Printed course packs and court filings still want a footer number. Page Numbers stamps n / N in the footer or header, and you can start from a number other than 1 for appendices.
Merge chapters first so numbering is global. If a blank scan sits between chapters, delete it in Organize PDF before numbering.
The stamp is drawn as real PDF text, not a screenshot, so it stays sharp when printed.
