A CNIC on a dining table, shot with a phone flash, is not a scan. Portals reject it for glare, shadow, or size. You do not need CamScanner’s watermark or another APK. Chrome or Safari on the phone is enough.

If the card is in your hand

  1. Open Scan to PDF on the phone browser.
  2. Allow the camera. Fill the frame with the card, not the table. Daylight from the side beats a flash.
  3. Capture. If the page looks trapezoid, recapture — do not “fix it in crop” from a 45° angle.
  4. Download the PDF into Files / iCloud. It never goes to our server.

If you already have a WhatsApp photo

  1. Save the image.
  2. Open JPG to PDF. Choose fit-to-image so you are not putting a credit-card on an empty A4 sheet (that is how 100KB limits fail).
  3. Then Crop PDF to the plastic edge.
  4. Compress PDF only after crop.

Front and back

Two upload fields: two PDFs. One field labelled “CNIC copy”: merge front then back, after each side is cropped. Merging first makes a 10MB file you then have to murder with compression.

Glare on the hologram

Tilt the card until the NADRA hologram is dull, not a white blob. A readable name and photo matter more than a pretty rainbow. If the bio page of a passport curves, press it under a sheet of glass or a clear phone case and shoot from directly above.

Do not

  • Do not send the CNIC into a Telegram “PDF bot”.
  • Do not leave the original 12MP JPEG sitting in WhatsApp “Media visibility” chats you do not control.
  • Do not print-screen the gallery preview — you add black UI chrome to the page.

When the PDF looks like a document, not a photograph of furniture, you are done. Next stop is usually a size cap: compress for visa portals.
